Spotlight on Jack Moore: Rugged Coatings’ Director of Business Development for the Roofing Division

With over 30 years of experience in the spray polyurethane foam roofing and weatherproofing industry, Jack brings unparalleled knowledge, leadership, and vision to our team. 

A Wealth of Experience 

Jack’s career is a testament to his deep understanding of the roofing industry, particularly within the SPF sector. His journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo, graduating in May 1994. Since then, he has accumulated a vast array of certifications and accomplishments, including SPFA PCP Certified Project Manager credentials, OSHA 30-hour training, and hands-on experience with EOS Implementation. 

His impressive career includes 20 years as a Sales Engineer for an SPF Roofing Contractor, a role in which he honed his skills in sales strategy, contractor relationships, and technical knowledge. Jack’s expertise was not just limited to sales. For five years, he served as the CEO and President of an SPF Roofing Contractor, where he led teams, managed complex projects, and developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by contractors in the field. 

Jack’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through with his ownership of AGB Weatherproofing, where he spent 10 years manufacturing The Roof Scarfer and Channel Master—two innovative products that have contributed to more efficient roofing processes. He also founded a Polyurethane Foam Concrete Lifting Company, further expanding his technical and business acumen in diverse areas of the construction industry. 

This extensive experience allows Jack to bring a unique perspective to Rugged Coatings. Having been both a contractor and a manufacturer, he has a well-rounded view of the market’s needs, challenges, and opportunities, especially in the roofing sector. 

A New Role at Rugged Coatings 

As the Director of Business Development for Rugged Coatings’ Roofing Division, Jack’s primary responsibility is to identify and address the needs of SPF roofing and restoration coatings contractors. His focus is clear: to drive increased market share for Rugged by using creative marketing strategies, expanding consumer education, and enhancing contractor training and development programs. 

One of Jack’s main goals is to bridge the gap between manufacturers and contractors by ensuring that Rugged provides the kind of support he wished for during his three-decade career in the field. He recognizes that many large manufacturers struggle to offer the right combination of technical support, agility, and problem-solving capabilities that contractors need. At Rugged, he sees the potential to deliver both quality at scale and customized, flexible solutions that set contractors up for success. 

Leveraging His Experience for Rugged’s Success 

Jack’s extensive career gives him a unique edge in his role at Rugged. As someone who has spent nearly 30 years in the shoes of the end user, he deeply understands the pain points and needs of SPF contractors. This experience allows him to relate directly to the challenges contractors face and to design solutions that genuinely make a difference. 

“My time as a contractor showed me what would have made my work more efficient and effective. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be for larger manufacturers to provide the right support, both for contractors and for consumers.
